4 suspected UTA cadres arrested for extortion across Arunachal

Arunachal Pradesh Police’s SIT has apprehended four individuals suspected of being operatives of the banned United Tani Army (UTA). They are accused of sending extortion notices throughout the state. The arrests followed reports of extortion incidents in Itanagar, Pasighat, and Basar, prompting the police to launch a crackdown after a resident received a demand for Rs 5 crore.
