Hurricane Melissa: 25 dead in Haiti floods; river bursts banks, homes swept away

Hurricane Melissa’s devastating passage through the Caribbean has resulted in at least 25 deaths in Petit-Goave, Haiti, due to severe flooding from the La Digue river. The catastrophic Category 5 storm also caused widespread destruction in Jamaica and Cuba, leaving thousands homeless and without power.
