Ulfa-I ‘corporal’ surrenders before police, Assam Rifles

A Myanmar-trained Ulfa-I militant, Samiran Chetia alias Prabin Asom, surrendered to Tinsukia police and Assam Rifles. The surrender followed a joint operation along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, driven by sustained security force pressure. Chetia, who received arms training from NSCN and advanced training in Myanmar, is now being interrogated for intelligence on Ulfa-I’s operations.
