6th child tests HIV+ in Jharkhand amid crackdown on healthcare system

Six children with thalassemia have contracted HIV after blood transfusions at government hospitals in Jharkhand. One case was reported at Koderma Sadar Hospital, and five at Chaibasa Sadar Hospital. The latter’s blood bank operated without a valid license since 2023. Investigations are underway, and officials have been suspended.
