Centre holds back on implementing Panjab University’s Act amendments amid protests

The central government has halted immediate implementation of sweeping changes to Panjab University’s Act. A previous notification bringing these reforms into effect has been withdrawn. This decision follows criticism from political parties and student groups. The amendments will now be enforced on a date to be separately appointed by the Union government.
