A 25-year-old panchayat samiti member, Vicky Yadav, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Deoghar district when four bike-borne assailants opened fire. A bullet grazed his ear as he took refuge in a nearby house. Yadav has accused the husband of a local Mukhiya of orchestrating the attack.
