CAG to audit, guide railways’ multi-modal plan to increase cargo transportation

The CAG will conduct a first-of-its-kind audit of the railways’ multi-modal transport logistics initiative to assess its preparedness for increasing cargo share to 45% by 2030. The audit will focus on improving efficiency, reducing logistics costs, and ensuring seamless connectivity, with a report due next year. Additionally, the CAG will audit sustainable rail transport and IRCTC’s plastic waste management.
