Jajpur struggles to keep memories of Bankim alive

While the nation celebrated ‘Vande Mataram’, many in Jajpur district remained unaware that novelist Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay served as deputy magistrate there in 1882 and penned his novel ‘Devi Chaudhurani’. Despite his significant historical connection, little has been done to preserve these links, with even official records lacking details from his tenure.
