VVIP treatment in Bengaluru jail: Superintendent, ASP dismissed; IPS officer to head prison for 1st time

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara revealed disciplinary actions against senior prison officials. Jail Superintendent Magery and ASP Ashok Bhajantri were dismissed. Chief Superintendent K Suresh was transferred. The probe followed reports of VVIP treatment at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. An IPS officer will now head the jail for stricter supervision. A high-power committee will review prison functioning statewide.
