World’s largest spider web housing 110,000 spiders found on Albania-Greek border, shocks researchers
A massive spider web, the world’s largest, has been found on the Albania-Greece border. This extraordinary web spans over 1,140 square feet and is home to more than 110,000 spiders. Researchers documented this colonial web formation in a cave with high hydrogen-sulphur gas levels. The spiders have adapted to their dark environment, surviving on midges that feed on sulfur-oxidizing bacteria.
