Deepfake video of NewJeans goes viral, man who made it made to pay Rs 15 million fine

In a landmark ruling, a 21-year-old man received a hefty fine of 15 million KRW and was mandated to participate in a sexual violence rehabilitation program. This decision came after he was found guilty of producing and sharing offensive deepfake images of the K-pop sensation NewJeans on a Telegram channel, which had drawn in around 200 users.
