Retired man loses Rs 66 lakh in investment scam

A 78-year-old retired man in Berhampur was defrauded of Rs 66 lakh by fraudsters promising lucrative returns on an investment scheme. Lured by promises of Rs 6.5 crore, he invested through an instant messaging app. The scam unravelled when banks rejected the fake bonds, and the victim found himself blocked and unreachable by the perpetrators.
