49-foot fossil in India shows Vasuki indicus may be an even bigger prehistoric snake than Titanoboa

Scientists in India have unearthed fossil remains of Vasuki indicus, a prehistoric snake potentially reaching 49 feet in length, making it one of the largest ever. Discovered in Gujarat, the 27 vertebrae suggest a slow-moving ambush predator that lived around 47 million years ago. This giant serpent likely preyed on large prehistoric animals in warm, humid wetlands.
