No ETA, no entry: UK to start Electronic Travel Authorisation from February 2026

Britain will soon require advance digital permission for most visitors. Starting February 25, 2026, travellers from 85 countries will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation or eVisa. This new rule aims to strengthen border control and streamline travel. Airlines will check passenger authorisations before departure. The system is designed for a contactless border.
