Transport department draws up plans to curb accidents

Odisha’s transport department has launched a comprehensive action plan to combat road accidents and fatalities during the winter and picnic season from December to March. The strategy involves district-specific road safety measures, intensified enforcement at accident black spots, and strict adherence to SOPs for picnic destinations, including checks against drunken driving and passenger overloading.
