CDC vaccine advisory committee votes to remove Hepatitis B vaccine recommendation at birth: What has changed, and what remains the same

Babies born to mothers who have hepatitis B infection are still strongly recommended to receive the hepatitis B vaccine at birth, plus hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) within 12–24 hours. This combination cuts the risk of the baby catching hepatitis B around birth by more than 90%.
