Inspired Divya Deshmukh takes down Harika in rapid

Divya Deshmukh, India’s World Junior Champion, advanced to the FIDE Women’s World Cup semifinals in Batumi by defeating veteran Grandmaster D Harika in rapid tiebreaks. The 19-year-old’s victory brings her closer to qualifying for the Women’s Candidates tournament. She will now face China’s Tan Zhongyi, while Koneru Humpy will compete against top seed Lei Tingjie.
