A significant ammonia gas leak occurred at the Mahananda Dairy plant in Goregaon (East) on July 23, prompting a swift response from multiple agencies. The leak, originating from a faulty valve in a 3,000-kilogram capacity tank, was contained by the Mumbai fire brigade and HAZMAT unit. The area was cordoned off, and residual gas was safely transferred.
