Canada revises visa rules for Indian students: Here’s how much money you will need now

Starting September 1, 2025, Indian students seeking Canadian study permits must demonstrate greater financial resources. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) now requires a minimum of CAN $22,895 (₹14 lakh) for living expenses, up from CAN $20,635, excluding tuition and travel. This revised amount, reflecting updated living costs, also applies to students with families, with incremental increases per family member.
