Ilaiyaraaja’s copyright case: Supreme Court rejects the composer’s plea to shift copyright case to Madras High Court

In 2022, a popular music label filed a copyright infringement case against Ilaiyaraaja Music in the Bombay High Court, alleging unauthorized release of songs and seeking damages. Ilaiyaraaja Music then appealed to the Supreme Court to transfer the case to the Madras High Court, citing similar pending cases.
