How India beat China to become the biggest smartphone maker for the US
India has emerged as America’s leading smartphone supplier, surpassing China for the first time. Driven by Apple’s shift and Trump’s tariffs, India now accounts for 44% of US smartphone imports. Apple significantly scaled up Indian production, while China’s share plummeted. Despite this supply chain shift, the US smartphone market experienced sluggish growth, with only a marginal increase of 1%.
