Restored classic Badnaam Basti to headline Indian Film Festival of Melbourne’s Pride Night

India’s groundbreaking LGBTQ film, Badnaam Basti, originally from 1971, will be showcased at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025. The restored version headlines the Pride Celebratory Night on August 22nd, highlighting inclusivity and queer South Asian identity. Following the screening is the Australian premiere of ‘We Are Faheem and Karun’, a love story by Onir.
