Google DeepMind has unveiled AlphaEarth Foundations, an AI model that acts as a “virtual satellite,” integrating vast Earth observation data to provide insights into global changes. This model accurately characterizes the planet’s land and coastal waters, offering scientists a comprehensive view of Earth’s evolution. Google is releasing AlphaEarth Foundations’ annual embeddings as the Satellite Embedding dataset.
