Lt Col. Prasad Shrikant Purohit, once implicated in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, was recently acquitted by a special court due to lack of evidence. Purohit, who spent nine years in custody, alleged torture and fabrication of evidence by the ATS, claiming he was framed for his intelligence work.
