College Road renamed after actor Jaishankar; Chennai Corporation approves ‘Jaishankar Salai’ street name as tribute to ‘James Bond of the South’

Chennai Corporation has approved renaming College Road in Teynampet as ‘Jaishankar Salai’ to honor the late actor Jaishankar, fondly known as the ‘James Bond of the South’. This decision, following a request from his son, was met with gratitude from the South Indian Artists’ Association, who thanked the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
