EC increases remuneration, honorarium for poll duty staffers

The Election Commission has increased the remuneration for officials and staff involved in conducting elections. Presiding officers will now receive Rs 500 daily, while polling officers will get Rs 400 per day or a lump sum of Rs 1,600.
