Army Doctor, who treated lakhs of tribals for sickle cell anaemia, to attend President’s ‘At Home Reception’
Driven by the tragic loss of two girls to sickle cell anaemia, Colonel Dr. Y Uday of AFMC initiated a comprehensive health screening mission in Nandurbar district. His team screened over 346,000 individuals, identified those affected, and developed a monitoring application. The initiative’s success led to recognition from the President, highlighting the impact of dedicated medical outreach in remote areas.
