The IMD issued a red alert for Mumbai for extremely heavy rainfall. Streets are flooded, transport is disrupted, and lakes are overflowing. Schools and colleges are closed. Several flights and local train services are delayed. Red alerts are also in effect for Thane, Raigad, and other areas.
