FIDE updates dress code for Grand Swiss, includes ‘appropriate jeans’ after Magnus Carlsen controversy

Following Magnus Carlsen’s controversial exit from the FIDE World Rapid Championship after being fined for wearing jeans, FIDE has updated its dress code. The new regulations now permit “appropriate jeans” in blue, black, and grey at the upcoming Grand Swiss and Women’s Grand Swiss tournaments in September.
