Oisin Murphy’s horse dies at Ascot as jockey is hospitalised after rough fall and stewards postpone enquiry
A tragic incident unfolded at Ascot as Oisin Murphy’s mount, Excellent Echo, suffered a fatal fall in the seventh race. The three-year-old clipped heels and could not be saved, while jockey Sam James, riding Nordic Norm, was also injured in the same incident and taken to hospital. Stewards have postponed inquiries into both falls until the riders are cleared.
