UNESCO adds 26 new World Heritage Sites in 2025: India’s Maratha Military Landscapes also on the global recognition list

India’s Maratha Military Landscapes, showcasing brilliant defensive architecture from the 17th to 19th centuries, has been inscribed as UNESCO’s 44th World Heritage Site. This recognition, announced at the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris, includes 12 forts across Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
