United Naga Council enforces trade embargo in Manipur amid border tensions

The United Naga Council (UNC) has initiated an indefinite trade embargo in Manipur’s Naga-dominated areas, protesting the abolishment of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the construction of an India-Myanmar border fence. This action has stranded numerous trucks carrying essential goods along NH-2, exacerbating tensions following the reopening of the highway by the Kuki-Zo Council.
