Fast-track court orders closure of Kolasib PWD engineer’s office over unpaid compensation

A fast-track court in Kolasib district has ordered the closure of the PWD executive engineer’s office due to the department’s failure to compensate 62 landowners. The Mizoram PWD had damaged private land during the Serkhan to Bagha road widening project in 2013-2014. The department failed to disburse over Rs 3.42 crore in compensation, leading the landowners to seek legal recourse.
