Patalpani Kalakund rail section declared heritage site

Indian Railways has designated the Patalpani-Kalakund meter-gauge rail line as a heritage section, effective August 19, 2025. This decision, following Railway Board approval, aims to boost tourism and preserve the historic route through the Vindhyachal range. The 9.5-kilometre section, part of the Holkar State Railways, offers scenic views and operates as a heritage service on weekends.
