Jharkhand’s Parent-Teacher Meetings: A New Initiative to Boost Student Attendance and Improve Education

Across Jharkhand, parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) in 29,224 government schools, under the JEPC initiative, saw enthusiastic participation. Aimed at boosting attendance and bridging learning gaps, the PTMs also focused on reducing dropouts and improving school-parent communication. For the first time, elected officials, including MPs and MLAs, joined the discussions, a step envisioned by CM Hemant Soren.
