Soha Ali Khan almost debuted opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Paheli’ after quitting her bank job on the director’s advice. Amol Palekar, the director, initially wanted to cast a new male lead alongside Soha. However, when Shah Rukh Khan joined as both actor and producer, Soha was replaced by Rani Mukerji, leaving her concerned about paying her Mumbai rent.
