Chhattisgarh: Elephant calf found dead near Hasdeo river in Korba district

A week-old elephant calf was found dead near Hasdeo River in Korba district. Forest officials recovered the carcass from Kendai range. Initial investigation suggests the calf may have been trampled by larger elephants. A herd of 57 elephants is roaming the area. Post-mortem examination is ordered to ascertain the exact cause of death.
