Kandhamal administration closes Kalinga Ghat on NH-157 due to heavy rain forecast

Due to forecasts of heavy rainfall and repeated landslides, the Kandhamal administration has extended the closure of the Kalinga Ghat on NH-157 until September 30. The highway, a crucial link between Ganjam and Kandhamal, has been shut since September 16 after landslides damaged the road and an old culvert, further landslides on Monday halted repair work.
