Bengaluru: Woman slapped, kicked, dragged on floor ‘for stealing sari’; 2 arrested

In Bengaluru, a textile shop owner, Umed Ram, and his employee, Mahendra Seervi, were arrested after a video surfaced showing them assaulting Hampamma, a 55-year-old woman, for allegedly stealing sarees. Ram accused Hampamma of stealing 61 sarees worth Rs 91,500. The video, recorded by onlookers, prompted police action after going viral.
