Golden-haired tube-nosed bat discovered in Mizoram village

Scientists confirmed the golden-haired tube-nosed bat’s presence in Mizoram, India, marking a new addition to the country’s bat population. Uttam Saikia of the Zoological Survey of India made the discovery, extending the species’ known range over 1000 km westward. This brings India’s confirmed bat species count to 136.
