Achieving 30% clean air targets can reduce nationwide disease prevalence by almost a third

A new Health Benefit Assessment Dashboard reveals that achieving a 30% PM2.5 reduction, as targeted by NCAP 2024, could lower India’s nationwide disease prevalence from 4.87% to 3.09%. Launched by Climate Trends and IIT Delhi, this tool uses NFHS-5 data to link air pollution with conditions like diabetes in women and respiratory infections in children, particularly in high-burden regions.
