Citizens take to boats on Bharalu, shed light on neglected channels

Guwahati citizens staged a unique boat rally on the Bharalu river to spotlight the city’s neglected urban waterways. They aimed to transform these polluted channels into vibrant spaces for recreation and commerce, advocating for restoration efforts like removing a sluice gate that has blocked the Bahini river’s natural flow since 2004.
