Construction of the Majuli-Jorhat bridge is set to resume after the Centre appointed SPS Construction India Pvt Ltd as the new contractor. The Haryana-based firm secured the project with a bid of Rs 657.66 crore to complete the crucial two-lane bridge over the Brahmaputra river.
