The Gujarat High Court has halted the Gujarat State Human Rights Commission’s involvement in a private property dispute. The Commission’s notice was challenged as an overreach of power. A civil suit was already underway. The High Court is now examining the Commission’s jurisdiction. Further hearings are scheduled.
