Tea community members demand ST status, block roads ahead of CM’s visit

Thousands of tea community members in Tinsukia rallied, demanding Scheduled Tribe status and blocking roads ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit. Protesters expressed frustration over the delay in granting ST status, a promise made in 2014, and also called for increased daily wages and land rights for their community.
