Dibrugarh faces erosion crisis, govt launches Rs 300 crore anti-erosion project along Brahmaputra

State water resources minister Pijush Hazarika inspected critically eroded sites along the Brahmaputra in Dibrugarh, acknowledging the immense challenge of controlling the mighty river. An anti-erosion project worth Rs 300 crore is underway, with 32,000 geo-bags being deployed to protect the town, which has already lost significant land and infrastructure.
