MP: Prisoner escapes, threatens to jump for Rs 50,000, caught later

A dramatic escape unfolded in Sagar when an undertrial prisoner, Ranjit Ghoshi, fled police custody. He climbed onto a police quarter’s roof, demanding Rs 50,000. Police engaged him in conversation for an hour before safely apprehending him. Ghoshi was returned to jail, and a new case for escape has been filed.
