This ‘dying’ Palamu river awaits Niti Aayog aid for a fresh lease of life
Palamu district administration has submitted a Rs 29-crore project report to Niti Aayog for the rejuvenation of the 23km-long Batane river. The plan aims to ensure the river holds water year-round, addressing issues of deforestation and soil erosion through massive plantation and community awareness. The project, expected to be completed in two years, also includes watershed management and biodiversity conservation.
