Jagatsinghpur court sentences man to life imprisonment for burning friend’s wife to death

A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for burning his deceased friend’s wife to death in 2021. The convict, Sudam Swain, poured petrol on Sasmita Pal through a window and set her on fire after she refused his advances. She succumbed to her injuries, and her dying declaration implicated Swain.
