Tree Authority to decide on bids to fell 100+ trees for infra projects: HC

The Bombay High Court has mandated that all proposals to fell 100 or more trees for infrastructure projects must be reviewed by the Tree Authority. The authority will assess tree impact, consider translocation for significant trees, and require a replantation plan with a five-year maintenance undertaking before granting felling permission.
